We’re thrilled to introduce the new PVAMU Alumni Debit Card as part of our expanded School Spirit Debit Card program. With each purchase, cardholders support their alumni initiatives, making every transaction a way to give back.

It’s simple! Use your Alumni Debit Card as a signature-based transaction (run as credit, not debit or PIN) on common purchases of $5 or more. Contributions for the PVAMU Alumni are generated from the proceeds of those purchases, at no additional cost to you!  The funds are accumulated and paid out to the Alumni.

So pay with pride, knowing your everyday purchases are helping to support PVAMU Alumni initiatives!

That's all it takes - it's truly that simple.

Remember, the more you use your Alumni Debit Card on credit or signature-based transactions of $5 or more, the more money you help raise for the Alumni (at no additional cost to you)!

 

 

Here are some important things to know:

  • A Prairie View FCU or Cy-Fair FCU Checking Account and Savings Account is required.
    A PVFCU or CFFCU Checking Account is required for the Alumni Debit Card to be attached to. To be eligible to open a checking account, you must establish membership with the Credit Union, which is accomplished simply by opening a Savings Account (called a Share Account) with a minimum of $5 deposited into the Savings Account at opening.

  • Anyone 16 or older may open a checking account with one of these debit cards.
    If under the age of 18, the minor must have a Parent or Guardian present to open a checking account. Normal Membership and Checking Account Terms and Conditions apply.

  • There is no additional cost to you. Funds donated to these programs do not create an extra cost to you, which means you pay nothing into these funds. Instead, when you use your card as a signature-based transaction, a portion of the proceeds generated from your qualifying purchases are delivered to the credit union. The credit union then distributes the accumulated funds to the Alumni.

  • “PIN” based transactions do not generate donations. In order for donations to be generated from the proceeds of your purchase, instead of using your PIN to run transactions, please select “Credit” or “No PIN” if options are presented on the card reader.

  • These are NOT Credit Cards. They are Debit Cards, regardless of whether you run the card as “debit” or “credit”. This means there must be funds in your credit union checking account to be able to use the card.

 

Please Note: For Donations to Be Generated = You must use your card as a “Signature-Based” Transaction (NOT “PIN-Based”).

*Anyone under the age of 18 must have a Parent or Guardian present to open a checking account. Credit union membership is required before utilizing any product and/or service by establishing a savings account with a minimum $5 opening deposit.  Minimum $25 opening deposit is required to open and establish an Eclipse Checking Account. Please note: a $7.00 fee will be incurred if the monthly criteria to waive the maintenance fee is not met. Contact a Financial Service Representative for additional account information. Your savings are federally insured to at least $250,000 by the NCUA. $0.10 donated for every Signature-Based Transaction of $5 or more; does NOT include ATM or PIN based transactions.
