Candidates for Board of Directors
The deadline for nominations by petition has now passed and nominations are closed. The following members of the credit union have been nominated to serve on the Board of Directors and will stand for election at the Annual Meeting:

Chuck Brandman - one (1) year term
Chuck Brandman joined Cy-Fair FCU’s Board of Directors in 2016 from serving as a member of the Supervisory Committee. An employee of The Dow Chemical Company for 43 years, Brandman worked in the company’s Engineering Solutions Group, acting as a project manager with responsibilities for design and construction of domestic and international projects — mostly chemical manufacturing facilities.  He is also a Six Sigma Black Belt, which focuses on process improvement and group facilitation methodologies. 

Brandman’s multiple volunteer leadership roles in the community include serving as director of the Harris County Municipal District 264 for nine years, a member of the Homeowner Association Board of Directors, and an undergraduate fraternity chapter advisor at Stephen F. Austin State University and Houston Baptist University. His committee-member roles include the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for the past nine years and working as the current secretary of the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Community Leadership Committee.  Additionally, he was co-chair of the political action committee organized to promote the $1.3B Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Bond Election in 2014.

Brandman holds a B.S. in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from Marshall University.

Debbie Emery - three (3) year term
Debbie Emery is a native Houstonian and long-time Cy-Fair resident. After graduating from University of Houston she began her career teaching in CFISD in 1978. She worked at Lieder Elementary as a teacher, librarian and assistant principal.

After receiving her masters at Sam Houston State University and her doctorate at University of Houston she went on to become principal at Bane and Metcalf elementary schools and Truitt Middle School. She served as assistant to the superintendent and as associate superintendent of school administration and human resources.  Debbie’s past involvement in professional organizations include serving as president of the University of Houston - College of Education Alumni Board.

Debbie is currently employed with The Flippen Group as a Leadership Process Executive and with CFISD as a coach to new principals.  Debbie and her husband, Karl, have lived in the Cy-Fair community for nearly 40 years and enjoy spending time with family and traveling.

Dr. Audre Levy - three (3) year term
Formerly president of Lone Star College, Dr. Audre Levy has more than 40 years of experience at all levels of education, including 17 years serving as president of higher education institutions in California, Florida and Texas. In her leadership positions at these institutions, she partnered closely with K-12 systems, local businesses, community organizations, and state entities, as well as represented institutions at the national level.

Before retiring from Lone Star College, she helped the college navigate public crises while working to improve relations among the institution’s diverse constituencies. As the budget and student body grew, Levy’s initiatives included adding key staff, enhancing campus facilities, and strengthening the professional development and morale of professors and staff.

An active member of the community, Levy serves on a number of boards committed to enhancing the local quality of life, including Cy-Hope and Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. Levy holds several advanced degrees, including four Masters Degrees: Education (Michigan State University); Educational Psychology (California State University); Administration (California State University) and Divinity (Holmes Institute). She also holds a Doctoral Degree in Institutional Management from Pepperdine University.

Deana Sheppard - three (3) year term
Deana Sheppard is the Vice President of Instruction at Lone Star College-CyFair and has served at Lone Star College for 13 years.  In this role, she provides instructional leadership to six academic divisions, two Cy-Fair satellite campuses, LSC-Fairbanks Center and LSC-Cypress Center, the joint-use library with Harris County Public Library System, and the Division of Academic Affairs. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University, a Master of Science degree in Training and Development from the University of Houston, and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Sam Houston State University.

Ms. Sheppard taught business and computer science courses at the high school and community college level for over 10 years.  She provides training and development to college and community groups on leadership and student engagement.  While at CyFair, she has served as an Assistant Dean of Student Learning, Dean/Executive Director, and Vice President of Centers.  She recently had the privilege of serving as the Interim President of LSC-CyFair and assisted the college with transitioning to a new president in March of 2016. 

She is active in various local and national organizations and boards as well as her church. Ms. Sheppard is married to her husband and best friend of 24 years, Drew.  They are the proud parents of a 19-year old daughter, Kaylin, and 4-year old son, Liam.
