Candidates for Board of Directors

The deadline for candidates to be nominated for the credit union's 2018 board elections by the Board Nominating Committee has now passed. The slate of 2018 candidates nominated by the Nominating Committee is posted below.

The Board Nominating Committee hereby nominates the following candidates for election to the Board of Directors.

Chuck Brandman - three (3) year term

Chuck Brandman joined Cy-Fair FCU's Board of Directors in 2016 from serving as a member of the Supervisory Committee. He is currently the Board Treasurer. An employee of The Dow Chemical Company for 43 years, Brandman worked in the company’s Engineering Solutions Group, acting as a project manager with responsibilities for design and construction of domestic and international projects - mostly chemical manufacturing facilities. He is also a Six Sigma Black Belt, which focuses on process improvement and group facilitation methodologies.

Brandman's multiple volunteer leadership roles in the community include serving as director of the Harris County Municipal District 264 for ten years, and an undergraduate fraternity chapter advisor at Stephen F. Austin State University and Houston Baptist University. His committee-member roles include the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for eleven years, as well as serving the past three years as the current secretary of the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Community Leadership Committee. Additionally, he was co-chair of the political action committee organized to promote the $1.3B Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Bond Election in 2014 and has served a similar role in recent Cypress Fairbanks ISD Trustee Elections.

Brandman holds a B.S. in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from Marshall University.

Erwann Wilson - three (3) year term

Erwann Wilson joined the Board of Directors in 2013 and is currently the Chairman of the Board. She was born and raised in Chicago and spent her early years as a student at the University of Chicago Lab School - an experience which helped shape her view on education. Wilson started teaching in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in 1983. One of the highlights of her career involved opening a new elementary school in Mansfield ISD in 2006, before returning to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in 2010.

Wilson has proudly served as a student-teacher, teacher and assistant principal. She has been a principal for 23 years with tenures at Frazier, Metcalf and Bang Elementary schools in the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She seeks to create balanced classroom experiences that are engaging and rigorous with a variety of purposeful opportunities. She believes schools should be inviting, child-centered and welcoming. Additionally, Wilson is passionate about mentoring, developing leadership capacity in students and adults and being a lifelong learner. She studied at Harvard and Rice Universities.

Wilson earned both her B.S. in Education and M.S. of Education from Prairie View A&M University.

Tony Barcelona III - three (3) year term

Tony Barcelona has been a member of the Board of Directors for the past 15 years, which includes two years as chairman and one year as vice chairman. Additionally, Barcelona served on the Asset Liability Management Committee for three years, as well as on the Facilities Planning Committee for Skinner Branch and on the Nominating Committee for potential board members.

Barcelona's education career spanned 39 years, including 34 with Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, where he worked at Cy-Fair High School for 22 years as a teacher, coach, assistant principal and associate principal. He then became the senior director for school services for two years and finally served as the assistant superintendent for school services for the last 10 years before he retired in June 2013.

Barcelona continues to be an active part of the community. He volunteers for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, mentors students and has been a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Horspitality Committee for 36 years.

He received a B.S. from Texas A&M University Physical Education, with a minor in Biology, and a Master's of Education from Prairie View A&M University, along with an administrative certificate.
