Protect your sensitive information

Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union will never send an unsolicited e-mail (or make unsolicited phone calls) asking you to verify or update your personal information. The same holds true for any related agencies or trade groups such as the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), and the Texas Credit Union League (TCUL).

Your sensitive information is already maintained in our secured technology systems, so there would never be any situation where we would request ask you to update or confirm your personal information such as name, social security number, date of birth, account number, credit/debit card numbers, expiration dates, and Personal Identification Numbers (PINs).

You should not respond to any e-mail or telephone request for personal information about your Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union account. If you believe you have received a communication like this, or that you may have disclosed your personal information, please contact the credit union directly at (281) 890-7676.

Additional ways to help protect yourself against identity theft:
 
  • Maintain current security updates and anti-virus software on your home computer.

  • Do not divulge Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) to anyone, including CFFCU employees.

  •  
  • Check your statements for accuracy (e-Statement or hardcopy). Verify the transactions and your mailing address.
     
  • Shred documents containing personal/sensitive information before disposing of them.

  • Request and review your credit report at least once every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies available free through an Annual Credit Report.
